PTFE Silicone EPA VOA Septa
PTFE silicone EPA VOA septa are silicone septa with a PTFE coating that meets U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for low siloxane bleed, a problem that can cause contamination.
PTFE Coating
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), commonly known as Teflon, is chemically resistant, non-stick, and non-reactive. The PTFE coating protects the silicone from chemical reactions.
EPA Septa and VOA Septa
To avoid septum bleed, SSP uses platinum-cured silicones. In this way, our septa supports the accuracy of volatile organic analysis (VOA), a series of laboratory techniques for identifying and measuring volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
