EPA/VOA septa come without or without caps. These very clean silicone septa meet a requirements from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for low siloxane bleed.
If siloxanes contaminate a sample during gas chromatography (GC) or liquid chromatography (LC), the chromatogram may contain ghost peaks that interfere with analysis.
To avoid septum bleed, SSP uses platinum-cured silicones. In this way, our septa supports the accuracy of volatile organic analysis (VOA), a series of laboratory techniques for identifying and measuring volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
SSP also provided EPA septa caps and VOA septa caps that we produce at our Made in USA manufacturing facility in Ballston Spa, New York.
