Snap Caps
Snap caps for septa are closures used to securely seal sample vials in chromatography and other laboratory applications. They designed to work with vials that contain septa.
These special caps are distinguished by their simple, tool-free application and removal. They snap into place with gentle pressure.
Snap caps often include a central hole that exposes the septum. This design allows autosampler needles to pierce the septum for sample extraction or injection without needing to remove the cap.
These caps are compatible with pre-slit or solid septa, which can be made from silicone, PTFE, or silicone/PTFE blends.
Snap Cap Applications
These caps are useful in applications requiring convenience and speed, such as high-throughput environments in pharmaceutical, environmental, and food testing labs. While they provide a secure seal, their sealing capability is generally less robust than screw caps or crimp caps, making them more suitable for short-term sample storage or low-pressure applications.
These caps simplify workflows, reduce handling time, and are ideal for labs prioritizing ease of use over extreme sealing requirements.
